Q- Can you share with us your journey into the world of films? What inspired you to pursue a career in this industry?

I have a profound love for cinema as an art form from a very young age. I would always be fascinated by on screen characters and how effortlessly they mould themselves into a character. I knew at that age that this is what I wanted to do. I had no other plans of pursuing any other career.

Q – How do you balance your work as an actress, influencer & producer? Are there any specific challenges that come with juggling all these roles?

I am going to be honest about this. It is extremely challenging to do all of this because each role requires time and effort separately. I try and divide my time as much as I can between the three.  As much as I may want to take on every opportunity, sometimes saying no is necessary to maintain balance and prevent overcommitting. Hence I priorities the need most urgent tasks first and when I have spare time do the less critical ones.

Q – What has been the most memorable experience or project in your career so far? Why was it significant to you?

I have had many wonderful experiences on various films so far but the most recent one would be of my most recent film Gaalipata 2 that released last year. We were shooting in Kazakhstan during covid times and it had its own challenges due to covid restrictions. But in a way had the best experience shooting in the mountains inspite of the subzero temperatures with zero phone network due to which the entire Cast and crew members became super close and we ended up having the most fun shoot I have experienced.

Q – As an actress you often play different characters and portray various styles. How do you prepare yourself to adapt to different roles and looks?

Before diving into a new role I thoroughly analyses the character i will be portraying. I study the character’s background, motivations, personality and relationships to understand their psyche. Understanding the script is crucial too. Diverse roles involves intensive research, physical transformations, emotional preparation and collaboration with the director to get the right output required to get the best performance out. This is by far the best part about being an actor according to me. I absolutely love this process

Q – What is your approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying fit amidst a busy schedule? Any tips or routines you can share?

I have always had a love / hate relationship with food in the past. As an actor it is important to look good or to look a part for a particular role. There were times I would diet intensively only before a shoot and let go when I wasn’t. But over the years I have changed this and made fitness & healthy eating a part of my daily life and routine. Yes there are days where I skip my workouts and eat junk food but for the most part I stick to my routine & as cliché as it may sound it’s by far the best way to maintain your weight and remain healthy which should be the main criteria .

Q – Can you shed light on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the industry? What are some misconceptions people may have about being an actress?

While actors may attend red carpet events and have exciting opportunities the profession involves hard work, uncertainty and irregular schedules. It’s not only the glitz and glamour that most people think it is In reality, being an actress involves a combination of passion, dedication, and perseverance. It requires continuous learning and the ability to navigate the ups and downs of the industry.  There is still challenges related to age and gender representation which determines the pay the women take which is reasonably much lower than that of the male actors.

Q – Who are your role models or sources of inspiration in the industry? How have they influenced your career and personal growth?

There are many people within our industry who are very talented and their sheer talent and hard work has made them reach where they are today. I look up to them for achieving this much. I would definitely give a lot of credit to my aunt Sunanda who is now no more but was my mentor and was truly a person who guided me and supported me to be what I am today.

Q – In an industry known for its glamour and competitiveness, how do you stay grounded and true to yourself?

Being in the industry for 15 years now I have seen that being grounded is one of the key factors.
Being humble and not letting fame or external validation define our self-worth is crucial. My family and friends keep me as grounded as I can possibly be. Because for them I’m only a sister / friend / Daughter nothing else. I also prioritize self-care and take time for activities that help me stay happy and away from the limelight.

Q – Can you share any upcoming projects or aspirations you have for the future? What can your fans look forward to?

I’m currently acting in a thriller film opposite Satish Ninasam and scheduled to start shoot by august 2023 . My character is a very interesting one and have never played something like this before. I’m excited for it

Q – Lastly, what advice would you give to aspiring actresses who are looking to make their mark in the industry?

Pursue acting because you love it. Passion will drive you through the challenges and uncertainties of the industry. Acting is an evolving craft. Continue to take classes, workshops etc . Rejection is normal. So if you don’t get selected for a role don’t get discouraged. Keep pushing forward. Believe in yourself and be patient.
