Presenting Hasan Nawaz heart behind Gomila Intersole

1. INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND

1.Can you tell us a little about yourself and how your journey with Gomila began?

I grew up surrounded by leather, tools, and craftsmen. My family has been in this trade for generations, so Gomila wasn’t just a business idea — it was a continuation of a legacy I was born into. Eventually, I decided to modernize that heritage and bring it to a wider audience.

2.What inspired you to enter the world of handmade luxury footwear?

I’ve always believed that craftsmanship is a language. Handmade shoes have a soul, and I wanted to preserve that art form while elevating it into luxury.

3.Gomila has a strong legacy — what does this heritage mean to you personally?

It means responsibility. It means honoring the hands that taught me and ensuring the next generation sees value in making things slowly and beautifully.

2. THE VIRAL “GIFTING SHOES TO STRANGERS” CONCEPT

 4.What inspired this idea?

A simple thought: kindness shouldn’t need a reason. I wanted to make someone’s day better without expecting anything in return.

5.How do people usually react when you offer them a pair of premium leather shoes for free?

Mostly disbelief — then gratitude. Many people think there’s a catch, but once they realise it’s genuine, their smiles make it worth it.

6.Was there one reaction or moment that touched your heart the most?

A man once said he’d never owned a “new” pair of shoes in his life. That moment stayed with me.

7.Do you see these videos as social kindness, brand marketing, or both?

Kindness first. If it also builds familiarity with the brand, that’s a blessing — but it’s not the intention.

3. CRAFTSMANSHIP & THE BRAND

8.What sets your craftsmanship apart from other brands?

Attention to detail. We still cut, stitch, and finish by hand. Every pair passes through craftsmen who treat it like their own.

9.Walk us through the process: what goes into making one pair of Gomila shoes?

It begins with selecting full-grain leather, shaping the last, hand-cutting each piece, stitching with care, finishing, polishing, and finally — a human quality check. No shortcuts.

10.How do you maintain quality while producing at scale?

By refusing to compromise. We scale our team of artisans, not the machine work. Every pair is still touched by multiple craftsmen.

11.Which Gomila design are you personally most proud of, and why?

Any of our classic hand-welted designs — they reflect everything Gomila stands for: heritage, tradition, comfort, and timelessness.

4. BRAND PHILOSOPHY & VISION

12.What values define Gomila as a brand?

Honesty, craftsmanship, and respect — for the customer, for the craft, and for the people who make the shoes.

13.How important is customer happiness and emotional connection in your business model?

It’s at the center. A pair of shoes lasts years; emotions last forever.

14.What vision do you hold for Gomila in the next 5–10 years?

To become a global footwear name — a brand that represents quality, culture, and craftsmanship worldwide.

15.Are there any upcoming launches or innovations we should look forward to?

Yes. We’re experimenting with new comfort technologies while keeping the handmade feel intact. And a women’s line has already been soft launched.

5. PERSONAL INSIGHT

16.What motivates you every morning when you step into work?

Knowing that something created by our hands will become part of someone’s life story.

17.Running a luxury brand hasn’t been easy—what has been your biggest challenge?

Changing the mindset that local craftsmanship can match — or exceed — global luxury standards.

18.What is one misconception people have about premium footwear?

That price only reflects branding. In reality, it reflects skilled labor, time, and materials that last.

19.What’s a piece of advice you’d give to young entrepreneurs in Pakistan?

Start small, stay honest, and be patient. Real success takes time — and character.

 6. THE HUMAN SIDE

20.If you weren’t in the shoe business, what would you be doing today?

I am where I am meant to be, I don’t ever even think about anything else.

21.What makes you happiest — the craft, the customers, or the creative process?

The customers. Seeing them feel valued makes every challenge worth it.

22.How do you balance your public presence with the backend responsibilities?

By remembering that the videos may introduce people to Gomila — but the work behind the scenes keeps them with us.

 7. CLOSING

23.Is there anything you would like to say to your fans, customers, and people who follow your videos?

Allhumduliah for everything, always. Thank you for letting kindness travel further than I ever expected. Your support fuels everything we do.

24.How can people connect with you or Gomila for collaborations or custom orders?

They can reach out via our official Instagram, website, or visit our studio. We always welcome meaningful collaborations.
